1 Thessalonians 2:16-17

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord:

The Coming of the Mahdi?

Middle East tension rising as chance of conflict increases

My apologies for not posting lately. Things have been a little crazy around here, but I'm praying that I will be able to post more often now.

I thought I would start this post and talk a little of the tensions going on in the Middle East. I could come up with dozens of headlines concerning the current situation between Israel and Iran, however I just decided to post this one written by a fellow blogger. It's a little more concise.

Jesus said in Matthew 24:6 - "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." And we are definitely hearing a lot of rumors of possible upcoming wars.

The Obama administration wants to have a tougher round of UN sanctions in order to keep Iran in check. Unfortunately, I don't believe that another round of sanctions will work. They haven’t worked in the past either. Iran is going to do what Iran wants to do. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes in the Mahdi, who is the promised redeemer of Islam.

According to Moojan Momen, among the most commonly reported signs that presage the advent of the Mahdi in Shia Islam are the following:

  •  Before his coming will come the red death and the white death. The red death is the sword and the white death is plague.
  •  Several figures will appear: the one-eyed Antichrist (Masih ad-Dajjal), the Sufyani and the Yamani.
  •  The Muslims will throw off the reins of the foreigners and take possession of their land, overthrowing those rulers that are foreign agents.
  •  There will be a great conflict in the land of Syria, until it is destroyed.
  •  Death and fear will afflict the people of Baghdad and Iraq. A fire will appear in the sky and a redness will cover them. [Wikipedia

(To read more about the Mahdi, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mahdi)

Their other goal is to destroy Israel [Little Satan] and the United States [Great Satan]. That is why sanctions won’t work. Why give in to sanctions when you are waiting for your version of heaven on earth with Islam reigning?

So, is there any wonder why Israel wants to attack Iran? No, this will not end well.

"Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28

How Well Do You Train?

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (NKJV)

As he watched athletes training for and competing in their games, Paul saw an illustration of the struggles and victories of the Christian life. Although our final victory over death through Christ is always assured, we must strive for daily victory over the issues and temptations we face now.

We discipline ourselves, not in order to earn salvation, but to experience the joy and victory God intends for us now!

Look hard at your spiritual life. Are you vigorously participating in the game, barely keeping pace, or merely watching from the stands?**

So what are we training for? We train for the day to day battles that the Christian walk entails.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

The enemy is always prepared to put obstacles in our way. He wants to distract us from the Word of God. He wants to cause us to stumble in order to ruin our witness. He will do whatever he can to stop us from bringing another soul into the Kingdom of God. He wants to see us discouraged, depressed, and just ready to give up. He wants to see us hide within the four walls of our church on Sunday and then obsess about the football game a few hours later. He wants us to care more about our feelings of inadequacy or friend's feelings of being offended than our feelings for the Lord and having a heart for the lost.

How do we train?

13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. Ephesians 6:13-20 (NKJV)

So, what do you do when the enemy does attack?

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (NKJV)

Now before anyone thinks that I'm pointing fingers at anyone, let me explain. I wrote this for myself. There are none of us who are exempt from the wiles of the enemy. I worry more when the enemy isn't attacking because that means that I'm not active and, therefore, not a threat. Do I look forward to these attacks? Absolutely not. It appears that the enemy knows everyone of my weaknesses and will use it against me. But I have hope because:

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 (NKJV)

So pray without ceasing, stay in the Word of God, and never be afraid to reach out to prayer warriors to intercede if you feel overwhelmed. Be blessed.

God willing, until next time

Who Do You Trust?

Europe Close to Banking Crisis, El-Erian Says: Tom Keene

A global financial crisis is at our door step.  Now I’m not going to go on and on concerning this crisis because, honestly, I do not have a great understanding on how all the global and often times back room dealings work.  However, I do understand enough to know that, in the financial world, it is bad and will get worse.

If, and perhaps I should say, when, the U.S. dollar is dumped as the world reserve currency, it will move us into third-world status as a nation. This will position the globe for a New World Order that will include such “benefits” as a one-world government, a universal debt-based currency, and a one-world religion

Now, has anyone read this somewhere before?  (Here’s a hint - it’s the last book of the New Testament.)

It is possible that there are powerful people behind the scenes, maneuvering the markets to attain this New World Order.  I won’t go into conspiracy theories, only what the Scripture tells us.  In the end, we have no personal control on where the markets go and the final outcome of the global financial situation.  The only thing we have control of is where our personal faith lies - with man and the world and then hope for “miracles” and answers or with a Holy God who already has the answers.

I know there are many who do not believe in the prophecies of the Bible, and that is their choice. But I would like to present people with this Scripture:

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Revelation 13:16-17 (KJV)

Now I believe that the Word of God preaches a pre-tribulation rapture of the Church.  I will go into that belief some other time.  However, for those who are not part of the Church, do not know Jesus as your Savior and Redeemer, you will miss the rapture.  If you live long enough, and that will be tough to do, when the Antichrist requires his mark, be warned now.   DO NOT TAKE THE MARK!!.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Revelation 14:9-10 (KJV)

Now, for some words of encouragement.  As you watch the markets crumble, prices soar, and possibly governments topple, keep your eyes on Jesus alone.  Do not rely on your own strength and your own abilities. Don’t worry as the world worries. And most of all, remember that there is an Almighty God who is in control. At the end, everything will be for His glory and purpose.

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:20-21 (KJV)

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat?  Or what shall we drink?  Or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?  (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Matthew 6: 31-33 (KJV)

My Response to "The Response"

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:5 (KJV)

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (KJV)

Rick Perry courts evangelicals at Houston prayer service

When the announcement came out that Texas governor Rick Perry was going to call a day of prayer and fasting, I was initially excited. Yes, our nation is in danger of God's judgement, and that won't be pretty. Some say that we are already under that judgement and I might cover that under another blog.

According to 2 Chronicles 7:14:

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

But as I was watching for updates about this prayer rally, little red flags started popping up. Several "pastors" from churches I didn't trust theologically were involved. Many of these are churches that believe that the Church has replaced Israel in the Bible, which is definitely not Biblically sound doctrine. And many like to preach "feel-good" messages but don't speak about sin. But that is for another blog and another time.

Now during this "Response", Governor Perry "asked Christians to turn to God for answers to the nation’s troubles". This is fine and dandy, our nation needs to repent. We need to repent for taking God out of our schools and public places. We need to repent for condoning the sins of homosexuality and fornication. We need to repent for turning our backs on Israel. We need to repent for the millions of children we have murdered legally. But if I could ask Governor Perry one question, it would be this.

Where is the true repentance? Where is the call to acknowledge Jesus as Savior and Jesus ONLY? Where is the genuine sorrow and tears that comes with true repentance?

Do not be deceived people. This was nothing more than a political ploy and a Trojan horse. The apostate, politically correct church trying to woo the conservatives and the "religious right". This was a wonderful feel-good rally with plenty of singing and fellowship. It would have been a fun rally to go to. But it was NOT a call to true repentance to a Holy God.

Be warned my brothers and sisters. There are many wolves out there seeking to devour the sheep. They will say the "right" words, pray the "right" prayers, and smile the "right" smile. But please, please check their doctrine against the Word of God.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2 Timothy 4:3 (KJV)

These [Bereans] were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11 (KJV)

Prayer

In this manner, therefore, pray:
      Our Father in heaven,
      Hallowed be Your name.

       10 Your kingdom come.
      Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
      As we forgive our debtors.

13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9-11 (NKJV)

I believe that one of the most misunderstood things in our Christian walk is prayer. There are many who believe that there is something mystical about praying to God. Let me tell you about prayer. Prayer is a wonderful privilege God has given us to communicate with Him. Prayer is not some mystical experience, it is not magical words, it is simply our communication directly with God. You do not need another person to talk to God. You do not need a special formula to go to God. You do not need exact words to talk to God. Just talk to Him the same way you would your very best friend, which is exactly what God is.

One of the most popular books in recent times was the book "The Prayer of Jabez." This is a great "model for prayer", much like the anchor verse ... given to us by Jesus is a "model for prayer". The sad thing ..., many people think that there is some magical formula in the Prayer of Jabez. First, in proper context, it is the Biblical account of ONE person's prayer to God. The most important fact is, it is a great example of how ONE person communicated with their Creator. After all, that is what prayer is. The sad thing to me is how many people think that there is something "magical" about this prayer. **

It is no more special to God the time that it was uttered, than what you pray to God for. The most special prayer to God is when you talk to Him openly and honestly from your heart. It is you, in your open and honest way, asking Him for the desires of your heart, that God is interested in.

You don't have to say specific "magic" words, you don't have to be in a certain physical position to talk to God. Just simply take a few minutes, talk to God just like you are talking to your mom, your dad, you husband, your wife, or your best friend. Spill your heart to God. Be open and honest, since He knows anyway. All prayer is, is talking with God. There are no magic words, no magic formulas; it is simply you talking to God. **

Personally, here's what I do. I've been known to pray while driving down the road, pretending Jesus is sitting right next to me. I pray at my computer, especially when I see prayer requests come through on my facebook posts. I pray in the cool of a summer night, when it's quiet and I'm alone, sitting on my front yard swing. I pray before I fall asleep for all the things that are on my mind. I've been known to talk out loud, as if Jesus is right there beside me, which I know He is. And I feel at peace, knowing He is listening.

So don't be afraid to pray. When you feel like you need to talk to someone, instead of calling your best friend, call on Jesus and just start talking. He will listen. Just remember, the answers may vary. Sometimes the answer will be "Yes", sometimes the answer will be "Wait", and sometimes the answer will be "No" because God has something else in mind.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 (KJV)

Judgement Day?

According to Harold Camping, Judgement Day was supposed to happen on May 21, 2011. It is now May 22, 2011. Mr. Camping was wrong, once again.
Now I don't know personally many people who actually believed Mr. Camping, and I do know those who have either had fun with his prediction or have been concerned with the "what if". Personally, I'm praying that the hoopla that surrounded Mr. Camping will fade into the background and we can, once again, get back to what is important, which is preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

However, here is what I have noticed. There are also a lot of people who are making fun of judgement day prophesy, and they are including Bible believing escatologists into that mix. Let me say this:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Matthew 24:36 (NKJV)

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mark 13:32 (NKJV)

I DID NOT BELIEVE MR. HAROLD CAMPING!

I will never predict when the rapture will happen and when the judgements will begin. However, I will say, in my opinion, that it will be soon. Now there have always been scoffers, and I believe the scoffers will increase. Scripture tells us it will happen.

3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 2 Peter 3-4 (NKJV)

And, although I'm sure this isn't the way he planned it, in a way Mr. Camping has helped further prophesy. Jesus also warned us of false prophets and false teachers.

23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:23-24 (NKJV)

21 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘Look, He is there!’ do not believe it. 22 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Mark 13:21-22 (NKJV)

In my opinion, Mr. Camping is just one of many more to come. False teachers and false prophets are on the rise. They are being led by their father, the devil, seeking to scatter the sheep and lead the unbelievers into the pits of Hell.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (NKJV)

And a message for those who are mocking anyone who believes in a coming judgement, be aware, judgement is coming. We don't know the day or the hour, but it is coming.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 2 Peter 3:10 (NKJV)

The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. Matthew 12:41 (NKJV)

1 But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. 2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3 (NKJV)

And as for the rapture?

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 2:13 (NKJV)

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (NKJV)

12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work ... 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely ... 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! Revelation 22:12,17,20 (NKJV)

Shape of Things to Come

6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. Matthew 24:6-8 (NKJV)

US in shock as worst storms for 40 years kill almost 300

Historic Flooding Unfolding Along Mississippi, Ohio Rivers

I wrote yesterday about the massive tornado outbreak and the people who died in those storms. Today I want to talk about what lies ahead.

I have head a lot of speculation about whether these are judgements from God or the birth pains. Although I'm not going to get into that discussion now, I will say that things will get much worse.

For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Romans 8:22 (NKJV)

The book of Revelation talks about major earthquakes several times.

12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind.
Revelation 6:12-13 (NKJV)

Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake. Revelation 8:5 (NKJV)

In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven. Revelation 11:13 (NKJV)

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail. Revelation 11:19 (NKJV)

18 And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth. 19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. Revelation 16:18-20 (NKJV)

Imagine, an earthquake so great that the mountains and islands are all gone. Now this sounds pretty horrible to me. I certainly don't want to be around for any of it. And I believe that it won't be just earthquakes. I can imagine more massive tornado outbreaks, volcanoes, and hurricanes.

Do I believe that these are all birth pains? Although there are many who many disagree with me, I believe they are. I believe they are warnings to those who have either rejected Jesus or have not yet made up their minds. Now, how about those of us who have accepted Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Should we be afraid? Although the human part of us does fear, we need to remember that, through all of this, God is still in control.

For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” Romans 8:15 (NKJV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

I've said it before and I will say it again. Time is short. We many not know the day or hour of his coming, but we are to be in the Word of God and we are to know the signs.

2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times. Matthew 16:2-3 (NKJV)

We, the Church need to be busy. We need to be witnessing and warning. We need to be telling people that time is short and Jesus IS coming back. And if you're still undecided, my warning to you is to look at the signs. The time for repentance is NOW. Tomorrow may be too late.

2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. 3 For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. 4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. 1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 (NKJV)

Thoughts on the Recent Storms

First of all, my prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by this major tornado outbreak.

I have decided to use this blog to voice some of my thoughts to this horrific, natural disaster. As I talked about in my last blog, I am an avid weather watcher and a trained volunteer for Sky Warn. I also enjoy watching the storm chasers via a live-feed site. This means, I watch, through their dashboard cameras, as they look for and follow the storms. And as I do this, I also keep an eye on the radar. Now, please remember, these chasers are trained at what they do. They are also the eyes on the ground and help provide warnings to communities who will be in the direct path of these storms. And as I listen to their comments and watch the radar, I am able to increase my knowledge of what to look for, in case any of these storms would ever come my way.

Now, I was listening to this one storm chaser late at night as he was trying to find an unobstructed way back home. As he was driving, knowing that there were still people following him via his live feed camera, he started talking about everything he had witnessed that day. One thing he said really got to me. Although I am paraphrasing this, he said: As he was driving to catch up with the storms, having gotten a late start, he was noticing all the people outside, going about their business. People were coming and going from work and school. People were working out in their front yards or just outside walking and enjoying the day. By the time evening came, some of those people would possibly be dead.

As of this writing, there are 284 people dead and that number continues to rise. These are people who, only earlier that day, were minding their own business, as if the day was going to be like any other day. At least 284 came face to face with an Almighty God and their fate had already been decided. It's a heartbreaking and sobering thought.

This is why I admonish you, my brothers and sisters, to warn the people, those who don't know Jesus. This is why I sometimes appear to be desperate in shouting out my own warnings. Tomorrow is promised to
nobody. The next hour is promised to nobody. There are 284 people who, if they didn't repent of their sins and accept Jesus' sacrifice, have run out of time.

Please remember, being a good person isn't good enough to enter into God's presence. God is perfect and nothing imperfect can come into His presence. One little white lie is a sin and therefore an imperfection. One little immoral thought is a sin and therefore an imperfection. Just coveting something that doesn't belong to you is a sin and therefore an imperfection. As you can see, we cannot enter into God's presence on our own accord. We will never be good enough.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 (NKJV)

But it isn't hopeless. God loves us so much that he provided a way. He became man, took our sins upon Himself, died on the cross as a sacrifice for those sins, and rose again. All we have to do is accept it. Yes, it's that simple.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (NKJV)

In our natural state, we are destined for eternal hell. We can do nothing to rescue ourselves from that fate. We need to humble ourselves and accept it. We also need to know that we are not worthy to be rescued. We need to repent of our sins. To repent, to acknowledge our sins, to be utterly sorry, to turn away from our
sins. We need to want to be delivered. The we need to accept Jesus' gift of salvation, the gift He provided on the cross.

whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, Romans 3:25 (NKJV)

Think of a person drowning in the ocean. The Coast Guard comes by and throws out a life-line. Now, this person has two choices, accept the life-line and live or reject the life-line and die. We have that same
choice, accept the life-line Jesus offers, or reject it and die in our sins. Jesus is not going to force you to take it. He's handing it to you. Whether to take it or not is your choice.

But my advise is - don't delay in deciding. For 284+ people, it's now too late. They had already made their choice. Their time ran out during a horrific storm. I just pray that they had already accepted the life-line out of hell.

I take each one of these deaths seriously. I am heartbroken. I prayed and cried yesterday as these storms were plowing through these communities, destroying people's lives and livelihoods. I continue to pray today for the families who have lost everything, for the families who have lost loved ones and friends, for those who are severely injured that they may be healed, for those who have lost jobs because businesses have been destroyed. I ask that you join me in prayer for these people.

I also ask that you join me in warning people on how short time is. Not only do I believe that Jesus will soon be coming to get His Church, but as we can see from the natural disasters that have happened recently, no one is immune from sudden destruction. Are you ready? Are your family members and friends ready? If not, have you told them about the Gospel and offered them the life-line that will save them from an eternity in hell?

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)

God willing, until next time

Watching The Storms

But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand. Ezekiel 33:6 (NKJV)

Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. Ezekiel 33:9 (NKJV)

I am a volunteer member of a group called Sky Warn. What that means is that I am one of the on-the-ground, eyes and ears for the National Weather Service. I report severe weather for my area and, in case of tornado watches or warnings, I look for rotating wall clouds, funnel clouds, or tornadoes on the ground. In this way, I can call in my observations to the weather service. Then the appropriate warnings can go out to the area which, in turn, can save lives.

We have just had a weekend filled with powerful storms. These storms swept through the country from Oklahoma to the East Coast, causing multiple fatalities, injuries, and destruction of property.

Historic Tornado Outbreak: 3 Days, 241 Tornadoes, 14 States
(note: there have been more tornadoes since I started writing this blog.)

Many people knew the location of these tornadoes due to the storm spotters and storm chasers who were tracking these storms and reporting them. These people probably saved many lives.

However, although many people heeded the warnings, many people either didn't listen to the storm reports or ignored the warnings. From one report, there were about a hundred people in a Lowes store in North Carolina totally unaware that a tornado was coming. It was the quick thinking of a store manager and the employees that saved all of those lives.

Now, reports of the approaching storms were all over the TV and radios. Sirens were blowing. From watching the radar, one could see the track this storm was taking and know when to take shelter. So why were many of these people caught unaware? I believe that only they know the answer to that.

Now, what does that have to do with this blog? It's about warnings and the people who listen to the warnings and are saved as opposed to those who ignore the warnings and perish.

Jesus and the disciples gave many warnings as did the prophets in the Old Testament. Just as the Israelites didn't heed the warnings then, many people are not heeding the warnings now.

31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. 32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Matthew 24:31-33 (NKJV)

We are to watch the signs and heed the warnings. If Jesus comes today, are you ready?

As it is written: “ There is none righteous, no, not one; Romans 3:10 (NKJV)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23 (NKJV)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 (NKJV)

Salvation cannot be earned. Everyone is a sinner and deserves death but God gives eternal life.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16 (NKJV)

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (NKJV)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. Romans 5:8-9 (NKJV)

Now just because people don't listen to storm warnings, those committed to warning the public will continue to do so. And just as there are those who are ignoring the warnings from Jesus, I will continue to warn. Whether you decide to listen to the warnings and be saved or ignore the warnings and perish, that will be your choice.

God willing, until next time

What Are They Saying?

Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Matthew 24:11 (NKJV)

And He said: “Take heed that you not be deceived. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time has drawn near.’ Therefore do not go after them. Luke 21:8 (NKJV)

One of the things Jesus warned us about the end times was the rise of false teachers and false prophets. Please note that Jesus said "deceive many".

For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Matthew 24:24 (NKJV)

Deceive the elect? Is that possible?

Many of the churches now are filled with false prophets and false teachers. They draw in large congregations who are amazed by their words. They give prophesies, arrange healings, and have very charismatic personalities. They hold a Bible and use just the right words to make it appear that they are preaching the truth, when in fact, they deny the Biblical Jesus. So why are all these people following these false teachers?

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NKJV)

These people preach about love but forget about wrath and repentance. They promise wealth and rewards on this world. They tell us that we can have "our best life now" and "love wins". They give us feel good messages that we don't have to think about and avoid talk of sin and repentance so we won't feel bad about ourselves. This is what itching ears want to hear. This is what itching ears flock to. They listen, awestruck, while their Bibles sit, gathering dust on their shelves.

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. 2 John 1:7 (NKJV)

But what DOES the Bible say about these teachers and preachers. 2 Peter 2 is a good chapter to read. Peter doesn't hesitate calling these people out and warning the flock.

And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 2 Peter 2:2 (NKJV)

For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 2 Peter 2:18 (NKJV)

Then there is the little book of Jude, right before Revelation. I haven't heard many sermons done on the book of Jude, which I think is a shame. There is a lot of information in this little book. While Peter was warning the flock that these false teachers and preachers would be coming, Jude says "THEY'RE HERE!".

For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 4. (NKJV)

Notice how he says "crept in unnoticed". They've crept into the churches, sometimes welcomed in with open arms. They act and speak convincingly enough to create a false sense of christianity. The "Hey, I believe as you do" attitude. Then they slowly work their poison in, sometimes through the children and youth groups or sometimes as deacons and lay leaders. When someone feels uncomfortable about something and speaks up, that person is ridiculed and called judgemental. This keeps other people quiet as the poison slowly spreads.

So, once again, what does Jude say? Look at Jude 4 again. God says "who long ago were marked out for this condemnation". That sounds powerful to me.

12 These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; 13 raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Jude 12-13 (NKJV)

Not a very good description of them, is it. So, what should we do about these false teachers and preachers?

Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?...Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.”
2 Corinthians 6:14,17 (NKJV)

Yes, it says "come out from among them and be separate". We are not to have anything to do with them. They have become apostate. And what does Jesus think about the apostate church?

14 And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. 16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:14-16 (NKJV)
Those are pretty strong words folks. These false teachers and preachers have a little bit of truth mixed in with a whole lot of heresy. Many people are being deceived right into hell. 13 Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Matthew 7:13-14 (NKJV)

I have seen many of my brothers and sisters in Christ attacked lately because they are rebuking these false teachers. I say to you, pick up your Bible and dust it off. Read the Word of God and compare it to what your preacher and Sunday School teacher is saying. And if they are teaching something different than what you're reading in the Word of God, take a stand and contend for the faith. Time is short. Jesus is returning and I believe it is soon.

I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

God willing, until next time

How sorry are you?

How sorry are you?

For the wages of sin is death... Romans 6:23 (KJV)

A typical scenario for a born-again, saved Christian. Say you're a guest at a church. The preacher gave a stirring sermon on sin, death, and hell. You know you've sinned, done a lot of things wrong. You may feel like you're basically a good person, but there are things in your life that you shouldn't be doing. Hell sounds like a terrible place and you don't want to go there. The preacher gives an altar call. This is as good a time as any. You go to the altar, kneel down, and say a prayer. Whew, you won't go to hell when you die.

But how true is that?

From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17 (KJV)

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15 (KJV)

I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:5 (NKJV)

So we see that there is suppose to be repentance. We're sorry for our sins. We feel bad.

How many of us, as children especially, have done something wrong, gotten caught, and cried and said we were sorry. Promised that we would never, ever do it again. (My hand is up. I've done it.) Then a couple of days or weeks later, we go out and do the same thing again. And once again, we say we're sorry. So, we're sorry, but did we repent?

So let's see what the word "repent" means.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary gives the meaning of the word "repent" as  1) to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life. 2) to feel regret or contrition: to change one's mind.

The origin of the word "repent" is "Middle English, from Anglo-French repentir, from Medieval Latin repoenitēre, from Latin re- + Late Latin poenitēre to feel regret, alteration of Latin paenitēr"

To turn from sin - TO CHANGE ONE'S MIND.

So, did you really mean it when you said you were sorry for your sins? Or did you just feel guilty because you were "caught"? Or did you go to the altar, say this prayer, just to impress someone or to "prove" you were now a Christian? Or maybe you went to Vacation Bible School and raised your hand to talk to an adult about being "saved" (because your friends were there?), but maybe you didn't really understand what it was all about. You're the only one who can answer that but you CAN NOT fool God. He knows.

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Romans 6:1-3 (KJV)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:10 (KJV)

If you were truly repentant, and if you are truly born again, then Christ lives in you. You don't go back to your sinful lifestyle. Search yourself. Only you and God knows. But do it soon because Jesus is coming back soon and tomorrow is promised to no one.

God willing, until next time

Your Babylon

1 By the rivers of Babylon,
There we sat down, yea, we wept
         When we remembered Zion.

2 We hung our harps
Upon the willows in the midst of it.

3 For there those who carried us away captive asked of us a song,
And those who plundered us requested mirth,
Saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion!”

4 How shall we sing the LORD’s song
         In a foreign land?
Psalm 137:1-4 (NKJV)

I received an email from a place I subscribe to called God's Daily Promises about the Israelites in captivity and it got me to thinking about how times are today. There are many of us who call ourselves "Christian". There are many of us who know we are going to heaven. But I wonder how many of us are really ready to go.

When Nebuchadnezzar conquered Israel, he took the Israelites to Babylon. They were held captive there for seventy years. In captivity in Babylon, the Jews wept for their homeland and prayed for the day when they might return. But when the day of their release from captivity finally came and they were allowed to return, only about fifty thousand (out of hundreds of thousands) made the trek back to Jerusalem. Why?

For one thing, some of the Jews were making a good living in Babylon — a better living than their fathers had made in Jerusalem. Others had married Babylonian spouses and become assimilated into Babylonian culture. They had forgotten Jerusalem. Can you blame them? Seventy years of captivity is a long time.

We are but travelers through this world. This isn't our permanent home. The Bible speaks of heaven as our Jerusalem and suggests that where we are now living is Babylon on earth. How comfortable are you in your Babylon? How are you faring there? Have you forgotten that you, too, are an exile, a pilgrim in a foreign land? What are you looking ahead to? Which world do you belong to?

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15 (NKJV)

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Philippians 3:20 (NKJV)

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (NKJV)

Which Path Are You On?

Narrow is the way, few be that find it
By Roger Pritchett

The words of Christ from the Holy Bible below is saying that few be that find the way to eternal life with God. Why do many choose the large gate and broad way with much company? Why do many choose to live only for the flesh and choose to reject the spirit of the living God? Why do many choose to live totally unconfined, and totally uncontrolled living to please only self? Why do many daily choose to walk the broad road to serve the flesh and do evil in the eyes of God? When we choose to serve the world and the evil one of this world we are on the broad road leading to hell. When we walk in the flesh and not in the Spirit of God we are walking down the wrong road. Are these words spoken by Jesus himself telling us that as many who make the rapture there will be as many who miss the rapture? Are the words of Jesus saying that many will go to destruction by not taking the narrow way leading to the strait gate? The word few is the key word here.

Matthew 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Matthew 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I recently heard a powerful anointed message from my son in law on the broad paved road that leads to the wide gate that leads to hell. He challenged the congregation to search their hearts to make sure they were ready to meet Jesus and were on the narrow path to heaven. God through the Holy Spirit is speaking to his messengers to speak truth to the people. This message started with talking about the much traveled road that was smooth and easy to travel. He talked about the wide paved crowded road that was agreeable to all works of the flesh and worldly pleasures. He said the wide gate at the end of this road was backed up with travelers. The wide gates going into this area look enticing and fun. He talked of all the sin filled things that trap many traveling down this broad paved road to this wide gate. There are seemingly many pleasures down this broad paved road, but it will lead to destruction. These seemingly pleasures never fill the void in your heart that only God can fill. It is often a wildly celebrated party going down this road.  He talked of sin issues that get a hold of people that separate them from God. He mentioned that he was not judging or doubting anyone’s salvation, but we must inspect our hearts and know that Jesus truly lives in us. This broad paved road leads to hell and many will go that way.

He then shifted gears to another road. This road is narrow and looks like it is seldom taken. He talked about a narrow straight path like you would see out hiking in the woods. This road is a straight narrow path that looks untraveled. This road is a path of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a daily relationship with him. This path seeks through the power of the Holy Spirit to live in righteousness before the Lord. This narrow road can only be followed with the spirit of God living in your heart through salvation in Jesus. This road is the straight and narrow and leads to eternal life with Jesus. This is a life that one lives for Christ and strives to walk daily in the spirit of God and not in the flesh. This is the only road where the void and emptiness in ones heart can be filled by God’s presence. There is nothing of this world that can fill the void in the human soul but Jesus. The spirit of God lives in the born again believer traveling down this road. This narrow path leads to heaven and few will find that way.

When sin is not being preached about and warnings to the saints a lukewarm church will be the result. They have a form of Godliness, but deny the power of the Holy Spirit. The words of Christ’s say that in the last days that many would be lukewarm and would be rejected by God. They are rich and in need of nothing. Scripture could not be any plainer with Christ’s very words telling us that he will reject these that have grown lukewarm.

Revelation 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Revelation 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

When the word of God is preached the world will come out against you. Upon completion of this wonderful sermon there were those that disagreed with this sermon and accusingly said works was preached and not faith. This couldn’t be farther from the truth because everything he said was backed up by God’s Holy Word the Bible. Often there are those that attempt to take out of context passages in the Bible. They somehow want to twist the plan of God and pervert the grace of God to cover their lifestyle of sin. They have a problem with the scriptures of works and living a righteous life for God that is written in the Bible. In comparison of two of the many writers of the New Testament we see that Paul and James do not contradict each other on faith and works, but they complement each other. What both men wrote in the bible was inspired by God and God never contradicts himself. Paul’s focus at times was on the unsaved man and how he might get right with God through his one and only son Jesus. James primary focus at times was on the already saved person and how he might show his faith and demonstrate the reality of that faith. James was talking about how a person of faith must live after receiving Christ by faith in his saving blood. The writing of Paul talks also of works in addition to faith. Paul writes that we are his workmanship and must aspire to do good works. Before the conversion of Paul he was a servant of sin and of divers lust and pleasures and after the Holy Spirit came into his heart after salvation he was a new creation and was born again. He was called to grace by the Holy Spirit of God to follow Jesus down this straight and narrow road. All the passages of the Bible below are written by Paul. Our works are only accepted by God when we have faith in Jesus and his saving blood.

Ephesians 2:10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Titus 3:8  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Philippians 2:12  Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Philippians 2:13  For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Colossians 1:10  That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Later that day in the evening service I heard another message from my father on heaven. I stand in awe of God and his direction of the Holy Spirit. I am truly amazed at how often I have heard lately from other believers the passage of scripture of wide is the gate, but narrow is the way. My father also spoke of the gates and in particular the gate of heaven. He spoke of a dream that God gave him about heaven. Scripture from the word of God the Bible speaks about visions and dreams in the last days.

Act 2:16  But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

Act 2:17  And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

My father had clarity of what he saw and he spoke of a dusty narrow straight unpaved path. A dusty narrow straight unpaved path that looked seldom traveled and not worn or wide. The entrance to heaven was a dusty narrow straight path that lead up to an enormous but narrow gate that was made of pure gold.  This spectacular gate had unimaginable beauty of jewels of every kind on the gate. The brilliance and awe of this gate was of such beauty that he had never seen in this world and will never see in this present world. Upon entering through the beautiful gate a brilliant light came toward my father. The light was so spectacular and brilliantly bright that he couldn’t see. When he looked to the side from the brilliance of light he saw a man and a women walking toward him. As the couple got closer he could tell it was his mother and father. My grandparents were not old, but they were young and in the prime of their life age. They walked with my father to a river that was coming out of the very throne of God and the river had beautiful trees on its banks. It was a setting of indescribable beauty. There hanging from one of the limbs was a golden dipper. I remember grandfather always during the summer had a dipper in some cool spring water on the back porch. The spring water was the best water you could ever drink, but this time the water grandfather had was the water of eternal life from God himself. Grandpa reached out and got the golden dipper and handed it to my father for a drink. My father said you and mom drink first. Grandpa said we have already drunk and have had plenty. My father then heard it’s not his time and immediately woke up. This dream of heaven was so real it was like he was there. He felt homesick to go back because it was such a magnificent beautiful place. Thank God for speaking to the hearts and minds of his servants.

In our journey to make heaven our home are there going to be those that will miss the rapture that are deceived by thinking they are saved, but have not accepted Christ through faith? Are there going to be those that attend church regularly, but live a life of sin and have never accepted Jesus by faith? Will there be those that miss the rapture that do great works for the kingdom of God and never truly accepted Christ by faith? Are there going to be those that will miss the rapture that are deceived by thinking they can do works for Christ to make up for their un repented sins and completely nonexistent relationship with Christ? An earlier message from my son in law talked about a relationship with a spouse. Would there be much of a relationship with a spouse if they only saw each other and talked briefly for an hour or so on Sunday? What if they only saw each other a couple times a year or less? What if they did as they please all week and just stopped by for a quick visit once a week or once in a while?  What if they done things over and over to hurt the other and sometimes took great joy in inflicting this pain. Would an unapologetic half hearted sorry be enough to sustain this relationship? Would the apology be accepted if they knew the cycle of betrayal would begin hours later? If this is the kind of relationship you have with God please search your heart and ask forgiveness and follow Jesus down that straight and narrow road. Will pride stand in the way in the hearts of man to admit there is perpetual sin in their life and only Jesus can take it away? Grandfather always said, “If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.” If you are walking the broad paved road of sin and there is no difference between you and the world, will the Lord know you on judgment day? We are talking about your eternal soul and where you will spend eternity.

Matthew 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Repent and ask forgiveness of your sins, have faith in Christ and him alone, serve God with all your heart and soul, live the most righteous and holy LIFE you can before God, and worship God in Spirit and truth before it is too late.

Romans 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Romans 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Beware of and do not attend churches that have false worship, false Christians, and false teachings of God. Beware that there are many who profess to know God and this includes pastors. Many have an outward ministry and externally receive the gospel and profess Jesus. Many are lost and have no desire to deny sin and have no love for a holiness of LIFE. Many profess in words and works that they know the Lord, but they deny the power of the Holy Spirit to work in their lives and reside in their souls. They are born again by words only and not by the power of the Spirit of God. There is no true repentance and desire to hate sin. They hold on to the things of the world that has become idols in their LIFE and are separated from God.  Beware of professing believers and preachers that are hanging onto the world with one hand and are holding onto God with the other hand. Beware of churches that have emotional gatherings that have a form of Godliness, but deny the power of a genuine move of the Holy Spirit. Churches and ministers that are accepting of sin and strive to look like the world to attract the masses are false before almighty God. Scripture warns of false prophet’s only out for self and material gain. What have we seen over the past decades? These are men with corrupt minds with corrupt principles that corrupt the word of God. These false prophets deny the truth and do not have the Spirit of God. These are false teachers that serve themselves with worldly profit and gain. They teach that all prosperity is consistent with religion and that anything less is inconsistent with religion. They teach that an increase of property is of course true religion.

1Timothy 6:5  Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

When we stand before God on that final judgment day there will be no divisions of people. There will not be sections with religious denominations, people groups, and any other divisions of people. If you were deceived by wrong teachings there will be no excuses of what you were taught by preachers and teachers or denominational teachings or what you thought the Bible said. Read the Bible yourself and know what it says. Find a Bible believing church where the word of God is preached and not just a building that is just an entertainment social center. Charles Spurgeon who is often called the prince of preachers predicted over a century and a half ago what would happen in the end times before the coming of the Lord.
A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats - Charles Spurgeon

Psalm 83 - Who's Who and Why Should It Matter to Me?

Psalm 83
A Song. A Psalm of Asaph.

Psalm 83 was probably written some time after the end of King Solomon’s reign (about 900 BC)  but the Bible contains no account of such a coordinated effort by all of Israel’s neighbors to destroy them, either during that time or since.  A partial fulfillment may be in view in 2 Chronicles 20 when Moab, Ammon, and parts of Edom invaded Judah during King Jehosophat’s reign (872-848 BC) Interestingly, Jahaziel, a Levite who prophesied Judah’s victory in that battle was a descendant of Asaph, who wrote Psalm 83. Applying one of his favorite tactics, the Lord set Israel’s enemies against each other and they defeated themselves. Ezekiel 38:21 tells of a future use of this same tactic.**

1 Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! 2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head. 3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones. 4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.”

Sounds like today's headlines from one of Israel's newspapers. As of this writing, Egypt and Jordan are the only neighboring countries that have a treaty with Israel, albeit, a cool relationship. However, recent developments have Egypt in an uproar and protests have begun in Jordan.

Thousands protest in Jordan

Egyptian Cabinet officially resigns after days of protests

Now the news pundits I have been listening to, and I have listened to a lot of them from various networks, are saying that all the protesters really want is freedom and democracy. That may have been true when these protest started out. President Mubarak was known to be a dictator and the living conditions of the everyday people, wasn't the best. Like all people everywhere, they want a better life.

The problem is, now the Muslim Brotherhood have stepped into the picture. Now why should it matter if the Muslim Brotherhood take over?

If Brotherhood takes over, IDF will face formidable enemy

Now look at a map of Israel, and the surrounding countries. If Jordan and Egypt are led by the Muslim Brotherhood, Israel will have no "friends" left among the surround countries.

Without Egypt, Israel will be left with no friends in Mideast

5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You: 6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;  Moab and the Hagrites; 7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; 8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot.

The countries lined up against Israel in this Psalm inhabited the lands of Israel’s current neighbors. Edom and the Ishmaelites were in land occupied by southern Jordan today while the territories of Moab and Ammon make up the rest of that country. Ahman, the modern spelling of Ammon, is the capital of Jordan.**

The Hagrites were part of Aram, whose capitol was Damascus in modern Syria.  Gebal (also called Byblos) and Tyre can still be found in present day Lebanon. The Amalekites lived in Israel’s southern desert and Philistia settled in Gaza on Israel’s southern border. Assyria would conquer Aram shortly after Psalm 83 was written and the descendants of Lot is another reference to Jordan.  Remember, Moab and Ammon were the sons of an incestuous union between Lot and his two daughters (Genesis 19:30-38).**

So here we have all of Israel’s next door neighbors, all of them sworn to Israel’s destruction, and all of them being whipped into a frenzy by Syria and Iran.**

9 Deal with them as with Midian, As with Sisera, As with Jabin at the Brook Kishon, 10 Who perished at En Dor, Who became as refuse on the earth. 11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 12 Who said, “Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession.” 13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind! 14 As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire, 15 So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm. 16 Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O LORD. 17 Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish, 18 That they may know that You, whose name alone is the LORD, Are the Most High over all the earth.

Midian was defeated by a vastly outnumbered force under the command of Gideon. It was another case of the Lord turning Israel’s enemies against each other and causing them to defeat themselves. (Judges 7)**

Jabin was a king of the Canaanites and Sisera was the commander of his army. The Lord lured the Canaanite army into a trap and the Israelites destroyed them.(Judges 4) The commander of Israel’s army was named Barak, just like Israel’s current Defense Minister. Probably a coincidence.**

Oreb, Zeeb Zebah, and Zalmunna were all leaders of the Midianite army defeated by Gideon.**

Watching today's news is exciting if you look at Biblical prophecy. Reading sections such as Psalm 83, Isaiah 17 (the burden of Damascus), Isaiah 19 (the burden of Egypt), the little book of Obadiah (concerning Edom aka Jordan), and Ezekiel 38-39 (prophesy against Gog aka Russia and Persia aka Iran). Of course there are many other sections of prophesy, but these are the ones I have been concentrating on recently.

Now I asked in the title, why should it matter.  Knowing that we are living in the generation (Matthew 24:34) that saw the first sign in 1948, the reestablishment of Israel as a nation. (Matthew 24:32 - Israel is symbolized as the fig tree.) If you read the God-Magog war in Ezekiel, you will notice that some countries are not mentioned. I believe that is because they were destroyed during the battle mentioned in Psalm 83 and Isaiah 17. I also believe that the 7 year peace treaty mentioned in Daniel 9:27 will happen after the Gog-Magog war.

Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.

And I believe that the Psalm 83 war, along with Isaiah 17 will happen before the Gog-Magog war. I also believe that this war is immenent. Of course, once the covenant is confirmed, the 70th week of Daniel will start, meaning what we call the 7-year tribulation will commence. And I also believe that before the tribulation begins, Jesus will come back and remove His Church in what we call the rapture.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Are you excited yet?

So, do I believe that what is happening right now in Egypt and Jordan is a precursor to these wars and the rapture. I like to believe so, however, an Almighty God is in control. I believe He is putting the pieces together so He can redeem the world. So my answer will have to be, only God knows.

Are you ready to stand before Jesus? Do you know him as your personal Saviour? If you don't, you're running out of time.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23

In order to accept Jesus, just admit to Him that you're a sinner and you need a saviour. Ask him to forgive your sins. It's that simple. When you do, your sins will be covered by the blood of Jesus' sacrifice and you will be able to stand in front of a Holy God.

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Thessalonians 5:9

Jesus is waiting and soon he will be returning for his Bride first, then to execute judgement on an evil, unbelieving world. Which side will you be on?

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. Revelation 3:20

God willing, until next time
